SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (Title 32)

As an SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (Title 32), GS-2005-5/6/7, you will act as the focal point for customer assistance in the resolution of supply and service problems and complaint. Acts as a technical expert in various supply and service areas such as subsistence, ammunition, excess, Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants (POL), turn-in, federal property and related reports of survey. The incumbent must have a total knowledge of the Army National Guard(ARNG) and Department of Army (DA) supply system. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
Serves as the point of contact for customers with supply and service problems. Identifies and resolves customer complaints such as lost shipments, issue shortages, back orders on priority requisitions, erroneously canceled requisitions, excessive order shipment times, warehouserefusals, etc. Researches such areas as document flow and control, report accuracy, funds utilization, priority management and regulatory compliance. Provides input to supervisors and program managers to correct procedural problems on automation and improve overall operations. Follows up to ensure issues have been resolved to the satisfaction of the customers andsupervisor. Analyzes customer complaints for trends or evidence of systemic problems. Notifies supervisor of persistent violations of standard procedures. Makes regular contact and visits with other USPFO activities, maintenance activities, supported units, inventory control points, supply activities from other states, and higher headquarters togather information and resolve supply problems. Supports mobilization mission of logistical support for units mobilizing for federal missions. Performs other related duties as assigned. AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades:

Experience:
Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
GS-07 Level - Must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. GS-06 Level - Must have at least 9 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for routine supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. GS-05 Level - Must have at least 6 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports. Experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
