HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) (Title 32)

As an HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) (Title 32), GS-0203-4/5, you will review and process procedural and routine military human resources transactions submitted by lower echelons. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
Perform regulatory and procedural review, and process a variety of routine military human resource transactions. Interview personnel, as required, to obtain data needed to complete human resources actions. Ensure that records are complete and accurate, and approve routine clear-cut actions. Maintain all required forms, make additions, revisions, or deletions to records or files to keep them current, complete, and accurate in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Research and/or provide information regarding a variety of rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements to provide explanations of actions taken or recommended. Draft and/or prepare related correspondence for appropriate signature and enter data in automated systems, as needed. Retrieve data from information sources, both manual and electronic, for use in answering questions, responding to correspondence, or preparing reports or briefings. Identify all creditable service time based on documentation in the record file to compute total military service history. Receive documentation on military personnel transactions from lower echelons. Maintain an audit trail for all transaction by logging in documentation by date. Examine documents and determine which documents require review by other areas and distribute via interoffice routing to other work centers. Reconcile report entries against hardcopy documentation, identify erroneous entries, and correctly input action to resolve errors. Forward documents/documentation, as required, to other work centers for further processing. Generate and distribute reports to appropriate users. Provide counseling to service members on available benefits. Answer service member questions with regards to emergency data, contact information, and the accuracy of their records. AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades:
Enlisted Only - May not exceed the rank of SFC GENERAL
Experience:
Must possess administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position; and experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
GS-05 Level - Must possess at least 6 months experience, education or training that has provided knowledge of general office work which may include but is not limited to:
answering telephones, receiving and distributing mail and maintaining records; experience following oral or written instructions to accomplish work. Experience establishing and retrieving files and information; and experience using common computer software designed for word processing. GS-04 Level - Must possess at least 3 months experience, education or training that has provided knowledge of general office work which may include but is not limited to:
answering telephones, receiving and distributing mail and maintaining records; and experience following oral or written instructions to accomplish work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
