COMPUTER ASSISTANT (Title 32)

As an COMPUTER ASSISTANT (Title 32), GS-0335-7/9, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert and full time advisor to the commander for the organization as well as the project leader for major network systems. You will function as the technical coordinator and/or technical specialist on issues relating to the Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) system and its integration with the network. Plan, organize, manage, and perform duties necessary to enable command, control, communications and computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) functions in support of programs essential to organizational information management and daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
Integrates and maintains the organizational automation and brigade network infrastructure, consisting of the distribution and connectivity requirements of the various tactical automation systems and sensors, as stipulated by guidance from higher and local requirements. Provides detailed technical advice for long-range decision planning related to tactical network management up and down the chain of command. Prepares briefings and presentations about the complexities of the tactical network. Reviews and evaluates new or upgraded tactical software packages. Responsible for possessing and maintaining accreditation documentation on the various tactical automation systems and major network components. Develops and maintains documentation regarding network configuration, operating procedures, necessary to maintain the reliability of the network. Serves as network administrator responsible for configuring hubs and switches, monitoring network performance and installing network software/interim change packages (SCP/ICP). Oversees the distribution of applications and upgrades ensuring compliance with regulations and copyright laws. Establishes limited liaison outside the organization to ensure interoperability of mission support requirements. AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades:

Experience:
Experience, training, or education which demonstrates the applicants ability to follow directions, procedures, or systematic work methods which gives evidence of the candidates ability to perform this work. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
GS-09 Level - Must have at least 24 months experience maintaining continuity of production control; coordinating work load priorities and scheduling multiple requirements. Experience applying optional methods to new or developmental requirements and provide for program dependencies and priorities. Experience identifying computer requirements or techniques associated with the development and design of data processing systems. Experience in planning and programming requirements related to computer systems or applications. GS-07 Level - Must have at least 12 months experience working with computer languages, codes or abbreviations; performing production control functions; coordinating work load priorities and scheduling multi requirements; and identifying and tracing processing failures. Experience performing specialized projects and assignments using knowledge of fundamental data processing methods, practices and techniques in work involving development, test, implementation and modification of computer programs and operating procedures. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
