Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Services, the Dean provides the overall leadership to the faculty and staff within the department and is responsible for ensuring quality instruction, offering diverse academic programming, and providing public outreach.
The Dean brings knowledge of and experience with innovative academic practices that support the faculty in providing students with impactful educational experiences.
LLCC is a fully accredited, comprehensive community college in Springfield, Illinois, serving approximately 15,000 credit and non-credit students in 161 degree and certificate programs throughout the state's largest community college district.
LLCC's 220-acre main campus is located in Springfield, the state capitol of Illinois, with additional locations located throughout central Illinois.

The English and Humanities department offers courses spanning first-year composition, co-requisite composition, introductions to forms of literature, literature surveys, philosophy and humanities.
The department consists of seventeen full-time faculty members, three Writing Center staff, and one administrative assistant.
Members of the department produce one annual literary publication of student writings; host a film series and a literary festival; operate a writing center; and advise student organizations.
As a staff member at LLCC, you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break; 12 Fridays off in the summer; and 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and 20 vacation days per year.
LLCC staff, their spouse and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses.

Come join our team and experience success at LLCC!Required Qualifications Master's degree in one or more of the disciplines taught in the department or equivalent Thorough understanding of and total commitment to the community college mission Post-secondary teaching experience and/or relevant work experience, preferably at a community college Evidence of effective working relationships with external and internal audiences Successful record of innovative education and management practices and a willingness to assume risk Evidence of an understanding and use of technology in an administrative setting Successful record of sensitivity to diversity issues Ability to provide leadership in an institution where differences are valued Demonstrated knowledge about learning college philosophies and best practices in teaching and learning Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders Superior written and oral communication skills Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.
Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Composition/Rhetoric or English Doctorate Physical RequirementsPosition Salary Salary will be commensurate with education and experience and will be between $89,039 - $130,000 with an excellent benefits package.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
