N Position Type ManagementThe Director of Marketing, Convention & Resort Network is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing tools, strategies and promotional campaigns designed to enhance and promote awareness for Marriotts distinct collection of convention and resort properties in their Network; to help drive revenue and new customer acquisition, increase customer loyalty, build member hotel brand to maintain Marriotts competitive advantage.
This position will be responsible for identifying partners for CRN hotels and lead negotiations to gain favorable business terms for Marriott and the Network.
Will plan, execute, track, and provide ROI analysis on new customer acquisition and customer retention campaigns from conceptualization.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day relationships with key vendors as well as engage in direct communication with specific Network properties when appropriate.
In addition, the associate will be responsible for proactively identifying, securing, and optimizing highly valued marketing and partnership opportunities with the potential to benefit the Network.
In some cases, this may include the management of restricted marketing funding for select credit card, airline, and car rental partners, executing joint marketing initiatives as appropriate.
The responsibilities should help the Network to increase Marriotts preference, loyalty, and profitable share related to sales.
This position works closely with key internal stakeholders including the Area Directors of Marketing Vice Presidents of Marketing & E-Commerce, Sales, CRN Leadership and Operations to achieve the desired result.
Will partner with B2B and B2C channels and lead positioning and messaging framework for CRN hotels.
The candidate will also manage the launch of all new initiatives linked to marketing within the Network and ensure that all new opportunities activated on time as determined in collaboration with the Director, Convention & Resort Network.
This individual may assist in the development of the Networks overall strategy and may be the liaison between managers in other areas of Global Lodging Services to achieve the goals of the Network.
CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED Education and Experience
2-year or 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or in a related major AND 4 years experience in the marketing, management, communication, public relations, journalism, sales or related professional area.

Project management experience Preferred
Advanced degree in Business or related area preferred
Preferred previous experience with Convention Resort Network Hotels
5 +plus years of hotel industry work experience, OR marketing communication experience demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.

Strong thinking, project management and change management skills.

Prior experience in external vendor management
Experience evaluating business trends and developing and successfully implementing new business programs or strategies that enhance business performance
Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, even when faced with complexity and ambiguity.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Development and Execution of CRN Marketing Strategy Oversee Strategic Execution of CRN Marketing Vision and Key Initiatives by partnering with CRN team to further develop and implement marketing, advertising, and communication strategies for Convention & Resort Network to help drive revenue and new customer acquisition, increase customer loyalty, build member hotel awareness, and maintain Marriotts competitive advantage
Identify partners for CRN and lead negotiations, as assigned by the Area Director of Marketing and the Director of CRN, to gain favorable business terms for Marriott and the Network.

Partner with Area Director and VP Field Marketing and Director of CRN to plan, execute, track, and provide ROI analysis on new customer acquisition and customer retention campaigns from conceptualization
Anticipate and identify business opportunities and challenges and respond with a profitable strategy that aligns with overall business direction.

Develop Marketing Tools and Resources for stakeholders to utilize when communicating with both internal and external channels
Partner with B2B and B2C Channels to identify opportunities for new customer acquisition and build marketing opportunities for member hotels
Lead positioning / messaging framework for the CRN
Cultivates partnerships and active participation in Demand Generation strategy development
Manages internal and external partners to verify deliverable are executed to support the CRN Strategy
Supports lead generation efforts
Runs, reviews, analyzes, and clearly articulates to stakeholders key marketing reports with the ability to quickly adapt and adjust strategy accordingly Development and Execution of Communications and Partnerships

Maintains frequent active engagement with Area Directors of Marketing to communicate overall recommendations and actionable next steps based on findings

Works closely with B2B Marketing and B2B Programs and Events Teams to Spotlight CRN Hotels
Assist Area Director of Marketing and Director of CRN in developing linkages and creating cooperative initiatives with the goal of increasing the effectiveness and/or efficiency of Marriott business and brand and marketing strategies.

Broker selected opportunities to appropriate internal stakeholders across the business
Lead multi-disciplinary teams, as assigned by the Area Director of Field Marketing and Director of CRN, to fully understand Brand objectives and opportunities for partner linkages.

Communicate project/program goals and deliverables to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Develop and Lead CRN Marketing Council representative of geography and hotel type.

Coordinate, manage and facilitate team meetings; to include deadlines, reviews, and approvals with teams
Collaborate with ad agency on the design of marketing material including print, online, direct mail, collateral, email and website designs, videos, FAMs
Develop marketing presentations and material; ensure brand consistency and accuracy
Assist in developing content and creative for elite customer events
Develop and manage marketing budget and confirm funds are appropriately spent
Develop and achieve operating budgets and manage controllable expenses when asked
Translate customer and account needs into a range of support products and services that maximize returns.

Conduct competitive assessments of like structure in support of the annual strategic planning process.

Leveraging current Sales tools (EMPOWER/CITY/Sales Companion) to increase penetration of high potential accounts to optimize demand across all brands and satisfy important property needs.

Point of contact for Sales Solutions and Support Team relating to CRN Marketing needs across Sales tools/platforms such as Sales Companion
Educate meeting planners by highlighting CRN hotels through industry educational articles leveraged on the Bonvoy Events Platform On-going Process Management
Function as the Networks key point of contact with select vendors on approved initiatives
Develop a thorough understanding of the Network objectives, strategies, and organization, as well as a strong working knowledge of all relevant projects to be completed
Provide ongoing support to internal stakeholders in negotiating, developing, and measuring the effectiveness of key initiatives
Function as the key contact for and manage the day-to-day interactions with key agency partners as well as individual property outreach
