Cardiology Nuclear Med Tech - IPT

The Cardiology Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for utilizing radioactive materials for diagnostic cardiac imaging purposes.
Job RelationshipsReports to the Operations ManagerPrincipal ResponsibilitiesMaintain liaison with physicians to resolve problems and to advise concerning nuclear medicine procedures, techniques and equipment.
Order, measure, administer, record, store and dispose of radioisotopes.
Limit radiation exposure to patients, self, and other staff.
Perform decontamination procedures in accordance with federal and state regulations, if necessary.
Participate in radiation safety protocols and quality assurance testing relating to calibration and maintenance of equipment.
Recognize emergency patient conditions and initiate life-saving first aid when appropriate.
Ensure the availability of proper nursing care as needed for patients in all areas of Nuclear Medicine.
Acquire knowledge of patients' medical histories prior to starting procedures.
Explain test procedures to patients.
Perform studies to assess the behavior of a radioactive substance inside the body.
Monitor patients using scanners and other equipment.
Operate cameras that monitor the path of the radioactive drug in the body.
Process and analyze data or information.
Document and record information pertinent to procedures.
Participate in procuring supplies and equipment.
Document laboratory operations by utilizing non-imaging instrumentation of dose calibrators, survey instruments, and wells.
Participate in departmental inspections conducted by various licensing, regulatory, and accrediting agencies.
Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Education/ExperienceGraduate of an accredited program.
Licenses/CertificatesPossess and maintain active licensure with the IL Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
Possess and maintain current certification/registration with either NMTCB or ARRT(NM).
CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficient in venipuncture.
Must possess manual dexterity to use keyboards and handle equipment and accessories.
Must be capable of pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, twisting and standing for long periods of time.
Working EnvironmentNuclear Cardiology clinical setting.
Will be exposed to conditions including blood and body fluid exposure, contagious diseases and potentially hazardous materials including but not limited to radioactive isotopes.
PHI/Privacy LevelHIPAA2 Recommended Skills Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Cpr Calibration Clinical Works Customer Service Data Analysis Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
