Posting Identification Number 10-89-29465 Position Overview The Office of Clinical, Administrative and Program Support is seeking to hire a self-motivated, knowledgeable, ambitious, detail-oriented administrator to serve as the Southern Lab Manager.
Under general direction, serves as policy advisor and subject matter expert for the Southern Department of Human Services (DHS) State-Operated facilities relative to laboratory services.
Works with IT Department staff to set-up and maintain the laboratory data crosswalk, that is used to transmit laboratory test results to DHS via interface with the reference laboratory.
Monitors DHS quality assurance issues regarding laboratory services.
In conjunction with the Northern Lab Manager, serves as the Consolidated Lab Coordinator.
Provides guidance and serves as laboratory representative on the Department's Statewide Infection Control committee.
Job Responsibilities Serves as the Southern Lab Manager.
Serves as working supervisor.
Works with Information Technology (IT) Department staff to set-up and maintain the laboratory data crosswalk that is used to transmit laboratory test results to DHS via interface with the reference laboratory.
Monitors DHS quality assurance issues regarding laboratory services.
In conjunction with the Northern Lab Manager, serves as the Consolidated Lab Coordinator.
Provides guidance and serves as laboratory representative on the Department's Statewide Infection Control committee.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college.
Requires prior experience equivalent to three years progressively responsible administrative experience in physical science/environmental science.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelors' degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Chemistry, Biology, or Physical Science.
Three (3) years of professional experience working with laboratory methods and procedures.
Three (3) years of professional technical and administrative experience in a CLIA Certified Laboratory.
Four (4) years of administrative experience in a physical science/environment science background.
Three (3) years of professional experience performing quality assurance assessments on laboratory services.
Three (3) years of professional experience assisting staff in the understanding and resolution of Medicare billing issues relative to laboratory services.
Three (3) years of professional experience monitoring the design, implementation, evaluation and the coordination process of laboratory contract proposals.
Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
